Kate Peter is an independent creator, commentator, and advocate whose work sits at the intersection of media accountability, true crime, and online culture. With a growing audience across YouTube, podcasts, and editorial platforms, Kate brings a fearless voice to the stories that matter most — and the ones the mainstream media gets wrong.
Before building her independent platform, Kate spent years writing for the Turtleboy Blog she would later vow to dismantle, witnessing firsthand how stories get shaped, suppressed, and spun. That experience — and the frustration, shame and harm that came with it — became the foundation for everything she does today.
Kate's work has been featured on Court TV, where she has advocated on behalf of the O'Keefe family, and her research has been featured in Boston Magazine. She is known for her meticulous research, direct delivery, and refusal to let bullies off the hook, or leave vulnerable people without a voice and an ally.

2018
Early Media Work
Begins writing and reporting, developing the research instincts and editorial voice that would define her independent platform.
2020
Going Independent
Leaves Turtleboy blog entirely to build a fully independent platform. Launches long-form editorial writing and YouTube Channel and begins building a direct audience.
2021
YouTube & Podcast Growth
Channel and podcast audience grows rapidly. Profiles nieche, often conspiracy-driven online communities and begins to take an interest in targeted disinformation. Develops strategies to support victims, monitor ongoing harassment, and utilize platform reporting and evidence collection for police and/or civil litgiation for victims.
2023
National Recognition
Featured on Court TV as an advocate for the O'Keefe family. Research cited in Boston Magazine. Community dedicated to combatting targeted disinformation and harassment campaigns grows.
2026
Expanding the Platform
Focus expands outside of the Karen Read/Turtleboy saga to broader issues of media accountability, online culture, and advocacy.
